The submission for the 2024 Afritondo Short Story Prize has officially closed. The team would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to all those who submitted their work. We understand the effort and dedication that goes into writing a short story within a short window and around a theme, and we are honoured that you chose to share your work with us.

Our team of judges now have the difficult task of reviewing all the submissions and selecting the longlist to be announced on February 23, 2024. To all the writers who submitted their work, we wish you the best of luck. We are excited to see the results of our judges' deliberations and to share the winning entries with everyone.

We would also like to take this opportunity to encourage all writers to keep writing and sharing their work. The writing community is a supportive and inspiring place, and we are proud to be a part of it.
